Immunize Houston

Houston Area Immunization Partnership Staff

Executive Director
Anna C. Dragsbaek, J.D.

Anna C. Dragsbaek became aware of the critical role that vaccines play in the health of a community when she worked in a rural hospital as a Peace Corps volunteer in Sierra Leone, West Africa. Watching children suffer from vaccine-preventable diseases, such as tetanus, measles and polio, was an experience that left a deep impression on Anna.

Later, Anna lived in China where she again witnessed people suffering from vaccine-preventable diseases, including severe influenza. Upon returning to the United States and settling in Houston, Anna pursued her law degree, specializing in Public Health law.

While completing her law degree, Anna worked as Manager of the Immunization Project at Texas Children's Hospital where she focused on implementing projects to boost immunization rates and on analyzing immunization law and policies.

As the Executive Director of the Houston Area Immunization Partnership, Anna looks forward to working with community partners to ensure that Houston is protected from vaccine-preventable diseases. "In a community where we have top-class medical facilities and a dedication to preserving health, we can and should be the leaders in achieving and sustaining high immunization levels. Our community, our neighborhoods and our families are worth it." Anna is the proud parent of two boys, who are both fully immunized.

Project Coordinator
Maureen M. Moore

Maureen M. Moore joined the Houston Area Immunization Partnership in September 2008 as Project Coordinator. Education, training and coordinating with community partners are key responsibilities that she embraces.

Prior to joining HAIP, she was the Vaccines for Children program manager and Immunization Registry Coordinator for the Houston Department of Health and Human Services. It was in this position that Maureen’s passion for “all things immunization” developed. Designing and presenting vaccine-preventable disease related educational programs in a clinic setting was a central piece of her work there and continues to be her focus. Maureen is not new to the non-profit world. As Administrator of the C. G. Jung Educational Center of Houston for 15 years, she promoted and designed educational programs.

Besides her passion for her family and immunizations, Maureen loves the Houston Astros, Texans and the University of Texas Longhorns!
